The first railway line in Germany ran from Nürnberg to Fürth, and the first train on that line carried both passengers and a barrel of beer. It was the beginning of rail freight in Germany, and soon after, breweries began buying their own freight cars, which ran in trains on various railways. With their colorful advertising, these cars added variety to freight consists. This LGB model of a “Tucher Bier” beer car enables you to run one of these beautiful cars on your layout.
