RhB Ge 4/4 III Electric Loco, Capito

The advertising locos of Switzerland’s Rhätische Bahn are some of the most stunning sights in railroading, and with this eye-grabbing LGB model, you can replicate the modern era of Alpine railroading. Motorized pantographs automatically raise and lower according to the direction of travel. Automatic directional lights and lighted instrument panels are powered through electronic voltage stabilization circuits. Twin Bühler motors give you the pulling power to handle sharp curves and steep grades.

The Prototype
Since 1993, Switzerland’s Rhätische Bahn has purchased modern, high-performance Ge 4/4 III locomotives to pull heavy passenger and freight trains. With a power output of 2400 KW (3200 hp) and a top speed of 100 kph (64 mph), these locos currently are among the most advanced narrow gauge locomotives anywhere. The first of its type, No. 641 "Maienfeld," also was the first RhB loco to wear advertising on its sides. Today, a number of these locos feature advertising for regional businesses. These distinctive locomotives are colorful accents to the trains of the RhB.
