To supplement their own construction crews, railroads also employ outside track construction companies. These highly specialized contractors have their own maintenance-of-way (MOW) cars, and this crane car, of the J. Huber firm, marks the start of a series of LGB MOW cars. This versatile, working model has the functions of the original: The arm can lift, lower and rotate. Cables and tools can be stored in the tool cabinets.
