SP F7B Diesel Loco Daylight, Sound





This unpowered F7B in striking Daylight colors matches the F7A (24578). The realistically detailed exterior hides a very sophisticated sound system, with digitally recorded sounds of a prototype locomotive. As you turn up the throttle, you hear the cylinder clearing sound, then the big diesel engine starts. The horn sounds and the loco starts moving, as you hear the diesel engine accelerate in distinct, prototypical steps. You can trigger the horn and bell using track magnets or with the LGB Multi-Train System. When the train stops, you hear the screeching brakes and the brake pressure release sound. Additional sound functions can be controlled with the Multi-Train System. This model is made for use only with LGB F7A models.


The Prototype
To increase the pulling power of its popular F7-A locomotive, General Motors' Electro Motive Division (EMD) designed a matching diesel locomotive without a cab. This "B-unit" could be coupled to one or more F7-A locomotives and controlled by a single engineer in the cab of the "A-unit."

The Model
This unpowered F7-B model is designed to be used with the LGB F7-A models. This "B-unit" features:
