In the 1960s, the Deutsche Bundesbahn (DB) ordered five diesel hydraulic locomotives. These locos served on the narrow-gauge lines of southwestern Germany until the lines were abandoned. (One of these locos still operates on the Rügenschen Kleinbahnen.)♂Inside this model´s detailed power trucks, you´ll find twin Bühler motors. Inside the illuminated cab you´ll find detailed controls. The Prototype
To replace aging steam locomotives on their narrow gauge branch lines, the German Railways (DB) ordered five modern diesel-hydraulic locomotives. Two 270 horsepower diesel engines are mounted under the long front hood, while the short hood conceals the air compressor, air reservoir and fuel tanks. These locomotives served their communities in southwestern Germany until their rail lines were abandoned. Today, one operates on the Rügenschen Kleinbahnen on the Baltic island of Rügen.
