RhB Tractor Loco Tm 2/2, 25, eXtra Premium

This "tractor" may be little, but LGB enthusiasts have requested it a lot! It’s one of a series, now numbered from 15 to 26, acquired by the Rhätische Bahn for light switching duties. Number 25 was purchased in 1965 and was rebuilt in 1989 with a new diesel motor.
The LGB model of this tractor is authentically detailed and features a drive unit engineered especially for this unique application. Interior and directional lighting is standard, and for easy digital and analog operation, even this small model comes factory equipped with an onboard Multi-Train System decoder.

This is an eXtra Premium product.

The Prototype
Between 1957 and 1969, the Rhätische Bahn purchased a series of twelve "rail tractors" for light switching duties. These small diesel locomotives also are used at the interface points between the various catenary current networks of the RhB. The "tractors" weigh between 9.5 and 10 tons (20,900 and 22,000 lbs). In 1989, they were equipped with new American Cummins diesel motors with 50 horsepower. Today, the "tractors" are numbered 15-26.
