Great Northern F7A Diesel Loco

The Great Northern Railway connected the U.S. Northwest to the Midwest with a spectacular route through the Rocky and Cascade Mountains, including a stop at Glacier National Park. Your GN F7 “A-unit” has twin Bühler motors to help you climb the grades. Add an F7 “B-unit” (26582) for authentic digital sound.

The Prototype
In the late 1940s, General Motors' Electro Motive Division (EMD) introduced this classic American diesel-electric locomotive. With its handsome "Bulldog" nose and 1,500 horsepower, the F7 was an instant hit with railroads and railfans alike.
