The RhB Bernina line runs from St. Moritz in Switzerland to Tirano in Italy, crossing the spectacular Bernina pass on numerous switchbacks. On this mountainous line, railcars are used not only for passenger service, but also to haul freight trains. Often you can even observe two railcars doubleheading! The first RhB railcar from LGB is a detailed replica of the prototype in the livery of the 1980s. Cabs and interiors feature prototypical detailing and lighting. The model has two Bühler motors to haul long trains up mountain grades on your layout. Together with the numerous RhB cars in the LGB program, you can recreate prototypical consists of this fascinating line.


The Prototype
The Bernina line of the Rhätische Bahn connects St. Moritz in Switzerland with Tirano in Italy, traversing the Bernina Pass with numerous curves and loops. On this line, the RhB railcars were used not only for passenger service, but also to haul freight trains, often even double-heading in front of heavy trains. The LGB model is a detailed reproduction of the prototype in the livery of the 1980s.
